Conor Peter Barry is a London based ceramic artist. His first commercially available design is a teapot named Sakuru (circle in Japanese) inspired by the brutalist architecture of the Barbican estate. Conor's teapot breaks rules and is entirely handmade, so it deserved an equally bespoke, unconventional graphic approach.

This typographic solution for the identity is inspired too by the Barbican, which is also where we shot the photography and got the colour palette from. The anatomy of the letterforms echoes some features of the estate and of the teapot.

The flat top of the letters and the upwards arc are features inspired by the architecture of the estate, in particular the balconies and the waterfall.
